William Susman;s music can be heard both in the concert hall and on film. Mr. Susman's music integrates diverse influences spanning the western classical and jazz tradition to science and numerology. Rhythm plays a strong role in his music through musical devices such as the Afro-Cuban Montuño, Medieval Hocket and Isorhythm. Some of the world's greatest soloists such as Joan Jeanrenaud , Joseph Gramley, and David Holzman perform and record his award-winning concert works and film scores. Mr. Susman has scored numerous award-winning documentaries that have aired on PBS and the Discovery Channel and screened at film festivals worldwide.

This native New Yorker won best documentary short at the 2006 Tribeca Film Festival in addition to the Moondance International Film Festival and best film score at Park City Film Music Festival. He also scored the controversial documentary Oil on Ice winner of the International Documentary Association’s Pare Lorentz Award in addition to best film score at the Moondance International Film Festival.
