Joel Gamble - guitar
I began piano at 5, violin at 10. I was fortunate to be able to study classical violin with the renowned instructor Mary West in Minneapolis for several years. Since then I've has studied, taught and performed in a wide variety of styles and instrumentations.
I've been blessed with the opportunity to perform in a wide range of musical styles. My first hands-on exposure to Middle-Eastern music was when an Iranian professor of mine introduced me to the Iranian Sitar, next, mixing sound for Persian Ney (an amazing flute-like instrument) player Hossien Omoumi...
...and I've been in love with Eastern forms of music ever since. With a little nudging I've even opened up to country music...after years of poking fun at it. Some of the world's best musicians are playing American country music! I teach a handful of students on guitar, violin, and piano, record my compositions in my home studio, and play out as a member of several groups. I have had the privilege to record on some fantastic projects such as a song with the Wailers (they were Bob Marley's band) with Jamaican vocalist Soldier and the amazing Bionic Ears Productions, and songs with Grammy-award-winning producer Larry Gadler for Tara McCormick.
I'm organist and choir director for Redemption in Lynnwood, WA.
